General information
Background: The school celebrated its 500th anniversary in 1995 which coincided with a major building programme to improve sports facilities and create a new teaching block. In 2004 a new catering facility and sixth form study was added. The school has been on its current site since 1903 and became a mixed comprehensive in 1973. Extra-curricular opportunities exist in many areas with much success in music, general arts and sport. The school aims to provide a sense of responsibility for one another and for the school community as a whole.
