General information

Background: Thistley Hough High School is a secondary school for boys and girls. The age range of the pupils is 11 to 16. The school has superb facilities with eight science laboratories, a technology block, dance studio, audio visual theatre, computing rooms and electronic office and a learning resource centre. It has a wide and varied range of sporting provision, which includes: large tarmac area for football, hockey, cricket, one gym and two tennis/netball courts. All children have the opportunity to develop hobbies, acquire new skills and pursue activities to a very high standard at personal and competitive levels. These include athletics, basketball, cross-country, dance, rugby, table tennis, rounders, art, Spanish, netball and gymnastics. The school offers the opportunity for all pupils to participate in the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme at bronze and silver level. The school aims to work together to create a happy, safe, stimulating and structured environment, which allows all members of the community to participate and develop.
