General information

Background: Located on the north western edge of Woodbridge, the school serves a 200 square mile catchment area and works with 11 partner primary schools. The buildings have undergone number of improvements and additions, including the completion of a new technology block in 2002; new post-16 block in 2006. There are 14 science laboratories; sporting facilities include health and fitness studio. The school boasts more than 400 computers in specialist suites and in the library and faculty areas. More than £5,000 raised annually for local and national charities. Clubs in every taught sport are offered to pupils as extra-curricular activities, in addition to badminton, basketball, gymnastics, trampolining and dance. Two or three productions each year and four concerts; students also have opportunity to become involved in choirs, orchestra and number of specialist bands and groups.Innovative thinking skills and independent learning; 10 trips abroad each year; more than 50 clubs, also 40 revision clubs. All year 11 pupils go on a residential revision trip and are mentored. Student involvement encouraged: buddy mentoring, Adopt-a-Teacher scheme, school council, organising events.
