General information

Background: Rose Hill is housed in a two-storey 1930s building in a high-density residential area to the southeast of the town centre. The school now has a large playground, climbing apparatus, picnic tables and benches. Trees and shrubs have been planted and an environmental studies area has been set aside. Extra-curricular activities are offered in response to the children's interests. Recently children have enjoyed art, football, French, drama, gardening, and learning the recorder. Each year the children in Year 6 who sit on the school council choose a charity, which will be the focus of school fundraising activity, such as the Kosovo Appeal and the Toy Box charity to help street children. Visits both to and from the school form a motivational part of the curriculum. The English Shakespeare Company and Ipswich Town Football Club have both come to the school, while children have enjoyed travelling to the London Theatre. The school aims to provide each child with a healthy, safe and stimulating environment.
