General information

Background: Sproughton was founded in the late 19th century and moved to its current location in 1959. The two classrooms which were initially built have since been increased to four, when an extension was added to the glass-walled, flat-roofed building. Located on the edge of the village of Sproughton, the school is surrounded by farmland and has 'spacious' grounds of its own. Facilities on the site include a six-a-side football pitch, a mini hockey pitch, an adventure play area and a wildlife reserve. Activities offered after school include French, 'Top Play', football, basketball and netball. Pupils from the school have won the regional British Heart Foundation's Schools Shield every year between 1996 and 2000. The special educational needs (SEN) co-ordinator is the headteacher, and he is supported by two teaching assistants.
