General information

Background: Tattingstone is a small village four miles south east of Ipswich. The school is housed in two Victorian buildings with three classrooms. Both buildings have been 'completely remodelled' internally and offewr 'high quality, well-resourced teaching areas for a committed staff'. Tattingstone is a 'family school' which offers a 'high level of support and care'. The grounds are maintained to keep the atmosphere of a 'family garden' where children can 'explore and grow in safety'. The school aims to provide a 'broad curriculum where all pupils can succeed' and is also committed to the 'development of the arts', in which it has a 'high reputation'. It recently performed in music and dance productions at Snape Concert Hall, and children from the school have danced at the Albert Hall. Writers, performers and artists visit the school, children work alongside potters, printmakers, poets and writers, and visit the theatre, museums and galleries. Pupils have the chance to go on residential trips to places such as the Lake District and Anglesey to experience a range of outdoor activities. Competitive sport is mixed gender and a 'wide range' of games is available including soccer, netball, rugby, and hockey. Pupils also have the opportunity to spend a week sailing. The school is over-subscribed in certain year groups. .
