General information
Background: This small village school was established in 1862 to serve a rural area of small, spread out villages and hamlets. Modernised in 1962, the school now has four teaching areas, including a refurbished mobile classroom, and a canteen/hall building, which is also used for music, drama and PE. The school grounds were recently improved to include an adventure play area, orchard, wildlife area and an early-years garden. A well-planned curriculum is offered and parents are encouraged to be active in supporting any special educational needs their children may experience. The school has competed in large school sporting competitions after continuous success in small school tournaments. It has notably successful soccer teams, including a girl?s team. The friends of school association raise money for the school annually and pupils support four charities during the year. The school aims to provide a supportive environment in which children feel valued as individuals and can learn to value and care for others. .
