General information

Background: The school was originally founded in Leamington Spa in 1881, and moved to its present greenfield site at the edge of Warwick in 1964. Further buildings have since been added and a #2 million development is now being planned. In addition to a range of 'well equipped' specialist rooms, facilities include a well-stocked library, audio-visual room, gymnasium and sports hall with an advanced playing surface and an educational support site. Aylesford is a community school for the town of Warwick, and also draws children from local villages. The full range of National Curriculum subjects is taught and more than 30 extra-curricular clubs are offered every term, spanning sports and outdoor pursuits, music and drama. The school is 'committed to a broad education with respect for others' and students raise substantial amounts for charity every year. 'There is a 'strong emphasis in a positive learning environment with a guarantee of entitlement to learning experiences for students throughout their time with us. We strive for 'excellence for all', aiming for all students to experience excellence and to achieve this in at least one dimension of their lives.' The school is slightly over-subscribed.
