General information

Background: Kingsbury School is a mixed Warwickshire comprehensive school for students aged 11-16. It is situated in North Warwickshire close to Junction 9 of the M42. The school is in the centre of the village and has views over the water park and surrounding farmland. There has been a school in Kingsbury for over 300 years ? firstly an Endowed School and after 1870 a Board School. The many changes in education during the 20th century led to the decision to build a new secondary school in 1956 and it has equipped the present buildings since that date. The school provides a wide range of extra-curricular activities which include The Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, a wide range of sporting activities, visits to places of interest, music, drama, computer club, chess club, dungeon and dragons club, scrabble club, theatre visits and homework clubs. It has good playing fields, a well-equipped gymnasium, a fitness centre, sports hall and a pool. Its learning resource centre is a pleasant room situated on the first floor of the building. Recently refurbished and fully computerised, it is well stocked, providing a pleasant learning environment for all its pupils. Each year the school raises money for a range of charities including Christian Aid, Children in Need, Action Aid and Oxfam. The school provides a successful, secure and supportive environment where expectations are high and everyone can 'learn and flourish'.
