General information

Background: Lillington Primary School is a community school, set in beautiful grounds on the same site as Lillington nursery. There are large playing fields, extensive landscaped areas, a peaceful Millennium Garden and three playgrounds. It also has three halls (one of which is dedicated to creative arts). Other rooms include a well-stocked library, a music room, a learning resources room, a room containing a fully networked computer suite and a classroom room with interactive whiteboard and data projector. All children are encouraged to become actively involved in sports. The emphasis is very much on the pleasure derived from taking part and being a team member. Games and athletics skills are taught as part of the national curriculum. At times the children may use these skills in small competitive games. The school is committed to providing opportunities for children to take part in activities after school or at lunchtime. The school aims to provide a happy and secure environment in which its children will think for themselves.
