General information

Background: By Brook Valley CofE Primary School is a primary school for boys and girls. The age range of the pupils is four to 11. The school, which is in the heart of the village of Yatton Keynell, was built in 1998. There are six classrooms, all of which are organised into three double units, providing a flexible working area. The school also has extensive grounds which are continually being developed to create stimulating spaces for play and learning areas for environment study. The school aims to provide a wide musical experience for all children in the school and to encourage those who are musically gifted. The school has its own choir and instrumental tuition is available recorders, piano and violin being the most popular. The children also take part in non-competitive activities where acknowledgement and reward are given for skill and perseverance. By Brook Valley organises after-school activities on a termly basis. These are for pupils in Key Stage 2 and may include activities such as singing club, football, netball and summer sports. The school aims to provide a wide and rich curriculum, which enables the individual to reach their maximum potential within a happy and caring environment.
