General information

Background: St Joseph's is a co-educational, 11-16 Catholic voluntary aided school in the diocese of Clifton and the county of Wiltshire. It serves the parishes of the Salisbury deanery. The school is located in Laverstock in east Salisbury, on the edge of beautiful countryside. There are extensive playing fields behind the school and in the summer pupils are able to make full use of the pleasant setting. The facilities of the school have been extended in recent years with the building of a new science wing. The special needs department is housed in a bungalow on site. The re-named Mary Guest learning centre has been equipped with computers and small classroom facilities. There is a fully equipped ICT suite, a spacious school library and a dining area. The school offers a range of extra-curricular activities, which develop the skills, and abilities of pupils. These include band, composing club, art workshop, book club, chess club, music lessons, theatre trips, day trips to places of educational interest and a range of sports activities. The school aims to provide a Christian education of the highest standard by offering the opportunity for each of its young people to achieve his or her potential.
