General information

Background: St Laurence School evolved from the amalgamation in 1980 of Fitzmaurice Grammar, founded in 1897 and Trinity, a church school. The voluntary controlled school's governors are appointed by Salisbury Diocesan Council of Education and the Fitzmaurice Foundation together with Wiltshire County Council, staff, and parents. The school draws students from the surrounding area, including Monkton Farleigh, Winsley, South Wraxall, Limpley Stoke and Freshford. Facilities include widespread information technology, the Wiltshire music centre, sports hall, sixth-form area and a new 250-seater restaurant. Students support many charities including BBC Children in Need and Romania Link. The school holds Specialist performing arts college status; Sportsmark (2005); Investor in People status (2005); Artsmark Gold (2006) and International School Award (2006). 'Commitment, creativity, community.' .
