General information

Background: Wootton Bassett is a popular school, enjoying a modern purpose-built campus on the edge of the town overlooking the Dauntsey Vale. The original school was opened in 1958 on an adjacent site catering for just 250 pupils. Today Wootton Bassett School is one of the largest in Wiltshire. The school moved into new campus in February 2002 as part of a private finance Initiative. The new facilities include a large library learning centre, fully networked classrooms, a recording studio, a suite of fully equipped technology workshops and modern science laboratories. In addition the school has extensive playing fields, a floodlit all-weather pitch and the use of the adjacent sports hall and swimming pool. A wide range of extra-curricular activities are available after-school such as football, netball, rugby, chess, astronomy and choir. The school aims to value pupils equally and celebrate their contribution and achievements.
