General information

Background: Rushwick School is a Church of England Voluntary Controlled Primary School for children aged four to 11. The school was originally at Crown East, but moved to its present site in 1964. The buildings are cheerful and well-maintained. The main building comprises a large hall with four classrooms, a spare room, a library, a computer suite, cloakrooms and offices. The fifth class, for the older children, is in a mobile classroom adjacent to the main building. Outside it has a large playing field and playground, a conversation area with a pond and wonderful views of the Malvern Hills. There are also willow sculptures, wooden climbing apparatus, an early years garden and a multi-sensory quiet sitting area. The school staff is dedicated and enthusiastic team, committed to providing the best it can for the children in its care. It expects, and gets, high standards, but academic achievement is not its only concern. In size and location, it has the best of both worlds. It is small enough to provide a family atmosphere where all adults know and care for all the children, but large enough to offer a wide range of skills and opportunities. This school is a village school within a thriving rural community but close to the city of Worcester with its traditions and cultural activities.
