Background: Lord Deramore?s School is a co-educational school maintained by the City of York Council. It caters children aged between three and 11. The school has served the community of Heslington for over one hundred years, since opening its doors in 1856. As the nearby University of York grows, so its school community becomes more diverse, welcoming children from a wide range of cultural backgrounds. The school offer various extra-curricular activities over and above the regular school based curriculum. Musical, sporting and creative activities are open to pupils at the school. It also bring in outside organisation. It offers activities including: football, netball, tennis, rounders, cross-country and choir. .
